YOUR SMILE SAYS A LOT!!
I know there were a lot of smiles yesterday when people received their gifts of love from a significant other. When we smile, it shows our happiness. Some of you were even laughing out loud you were so happy that someone thought that much of you. Christians need to learn to smile and laugh more. Proverbs tells us that it is good medicine for us to have a cheerful heart. If all the world ever sees on the faces of Christians are frowns and all they hear from us is our grumbling and complaining, they must think they have it as good as we do. We need to let our laughter tell others what a wonderful, powerful God we serve. (Psalm 126:2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them.) Thinking of the things and people we have lost in our lives is not a thought that brings joy, but thinking about how God has walked by our sides and strengthened us beyond measure will cause us to rejoice. Thinking about the people who have hurt you and done you wrong is not a thought that brings joy, but thinking about the Grace that God has given you to trust Him more and to forgive those who wronged you brings joy to our hearts. I’m not sure about you, but many times I am way too serious about life and I need a time of joy and laughter to bring me back to the reality that God is with me no matter what the day may hold. Take time this morning to laugh and smile. It looks good on you and lets the world know that God is on your side. Pastor Don
