I asked a little girl this week what she had asked Santa for Christmas. The list of things she had asked for went on and on. I thought, I’m glad I’m not that parent. LOL! On the other hand, when someone ask me what I want for Christmas, my usual answer is that I don’t need anything. How about you? What is your response when someone ask you what you want for Christmas? My devotional verse this morning is dealing with God telling Israel to prepare for growth. Get ready! Believe something “BIG” is going to happen. Maybe you and I should take a lesson from this verse. (Isaiah 54:2 Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.) We must believe God is able to do big things in our lives. (Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.) The reason many children have lost hope in asking for big things for Christmas is because of past disappointments. God is not Santa Claus! God keeps His promises. We need to trust Him for Big things in our lives. The question is, Do you believe God is big enough to give you what you ask for? Do you believe God will keep His Word? You have to learn to be content and be thankful for the rate of increase as God provides, but, never stop believing and asking for bigger things. If you need a physical touch, financial miracle, relationship healing, victory over an addiction, church to increase, business to grow, go to the One who can make this happen. What’s your WISH?
