TURNAROUNDS TAKE TIME!!
I read that the turning radius of a large ship is a minimum of 5 times it length. It is not something that is done easy. It takes space to turn around. Turning is not an easy venture. It also involves the speed you are traveling. You have to slow down to turn. The larger the vessel, the more planning it takes to make a turnaround. The same is true in our lives. Turnarounds can be a slow and difficult endeavor. Often, God has to stop our forward progress in order for us to start making the much needed turn. I have always referred to it as opening and closing doors. (Genesis 50:19-21 But Joseph said to them, Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of the Lord? 20. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. 21. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children. And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.) The turnaround in Joseph’s life didn’t happen easily. His life resembled a roller coaster for a while. He was up in the palace one day and down in the prison the next. Your turnaround happens as God has you prepared for what will happen next. If Joseph had not been humbled by being in prison, he may not have been as ready to receive his family who had done him so wrong. Your turnaround will come. It may take longer than you like, but God is having to prepare you for the next step after your break through. God is positioning you for something big and helping you to be able to handle it and still give Him the praise. Pastor Don
