We don’t get to choose what life sends our way, but we do have a choice in how we handle those events. Age, maturity, experience, and determination all factors into the way we are able to cope with things that happen to us in life. Have you ever been under such a load that you felt like you were not going to make it? Have you had to deal with things that you felt you were not strong enough to handle? I think we can all admit that we have faced situations in our lifetime that we were not able to handle on our own. My Bible reading this morning makes us a promise we can hold on to. It is a verse that I use often when praying with people in times of crisis in their lives. It is a verse where we can find strength to keep going when we feel like we are so inadequate for the challenge. (2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.) God will never allow anything in our lives that He has not already prepared us to be victorious over. The only power weakness has on us is what we give it. Don’t allow those thoughts of inability to flow through your mind. Don’t speak those words of failure from your lips. God is with you through whatever you walk through in life and His grace is sufficient to see us through. You are more than strong enough today. Stand tall and keep your chin up. You are going to win.
