I remember one of the songs that was popular when I first started to church was “I just steal away and pray” The song spoke of getting alone and talking to God about what was happening in your life. If you had done something wrong, you could steal away and pray. If you were counting your blessings, you should steal away and pray. The chorus went like this: I just steal away I just steal away. And I ask my blessed Lord to lead the way. I just steal away I just steal away. I just steal away somewhere and pray. Jesus set a great example for us to follow. After some of his greatest miracles, He found a place of solitude and prayed. (Matthew 14:23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone.) We live in a high-pressure, noisy, busy world where you are expected to do more than you can possibly get done. You need a place of solitude, a place where you can be alone and regroup with God. It is not likely that the world is going to slow down or change, but you can make it a point to find your solitary place. It’s the greatest stress relief you will ever find. Steal away and pray. Ask God to lead the way. You will find the strength, direction, courage, and refreshment you need. Your place of solitary will become your favorite time of the day. Pastor Don [image: image.png]
