SCARS!! TELL OUR PAST or FUTURE??
Our student pastor, Brandon Tuck, said in a message last Sunday morning that scars are our testimony. They tell our past experiences in life. Most scars are not pleasant experiences, but, they show that the pain of the moment has been erased and a healing has taken place. Paul tells that all our experiences are what make us who we are. (Romans 8:28 “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” We are all broken people. We are all imperfect. Sometimes we hurt each other, intentionally or unintentionally. Innocent people suffer every day. Everyone has been treated unfairly or experienced prejudicial treatment in some way. The key is how do we remember our scars. What is our response when we look at our scars? Do we still feel resentment, bitterness, a need for retaliation, and a desire to get revenge on the ones who hurt you? If so, your scars are telling your future instead of your past. When we look at our scars, we should remember how God has healed us and helped us to forgive those who caused us damage. God turns hurts into holiness. He turns wounds into wisdom. He uses offenses to remove our pretenses. When you truly believe God can bring good out of the bad things that happen to you, He will be able to begin to rebuild your soul, your broken thoughts, your injured emotions, and your broken will. All things work for our good! Make sure your scars tell of your past and not your future. Pastor Don [image: image.png]
