OVERCOMING YOUR FRUSTRATIONS?
How often does life frustrate you? Once a month, once a week, even once a day, we all face frustrations. The source of our frustrations can vary greatly, but the answer to our frustrations can be found in the Bible. How do you deal with the frustrating things that you face? (Isaiah 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. 4. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.) Try these simple steps in dealing with frustration in your life. Ask yourself, Am I the reason for the frustration? Is this something that I brought on myself? Ask yourself, What can I learn from this frustration? The Bible says in Romans 8:28 In all things God works for the good of those who love him. There are many bad things in the world, but all things work together. God can even take the negative and turn it into a positive if we let him. Use irritation as an opportunity to become more like Christ. Thank God for allowing you to face this frustration. You don’t have to be thankful FOR the bad situation, but you can be thankful IN a bad situation. Remember, your frustration may be a blessing in disguise. Try to turn your frustration into joy. Sometimes a sense of humor can be God’s antidote for anger and frustration. Ask God to fill our hearts with His love. Love is not self serving, love is self giving. We get irritated because we think everyone and everything has to revolve around us. Love concentrates on the other person. We get so preoccupied with our own things that we forget that people are the priority in life. Jesus faced constant frustrations too, but he always made time for people. Frustration is something we deal with regularly in life. Things will not always go our way, so take time and use these steps to deal with them. You day will go much better.
