HOW BADLY DO YOU WANT IT??
I listened to the testimony of a professional fisherman. He said the difference between those who make it and those who don’t is the “want to.” The willingness to lay it all on the line, to exhaust all your options, to fail and get up and give it another try. Have you ever wondered what drove people to want to invent some of the things we use each day. I read where the person who invented the bulldozer went bankrupt four times before he was able to develop the piece of equipment. A willing heart is a heart that “wants to.” If you and I want something strongly enough, we will find a way to do it. There is nothing that can stop a willing heart from reaching its goal. Our desires are God-given desires and we are not alone in our pursuit. (2 Samuel 7:3 Nathan replied to the king, Whatever you have in mind, go ahead and do it, for the Lord is with you.) In fact, our success or failure has a lot to do with how badly we want to do something. We can have a close walk with God if we want it. We can save money and get out of debt if our desire is strong enough. We can reach our goals this week, this month, and this year if we pursue them with all our efforts. Blaming others for our failures is a lame excuse for the lack of want to on our part. We often blame God for not doing more on our behalf. We often blame Satan because we faced too many obstacles along the way. The bottom line is we didn’t have enough want to to succeed. I’ve experienced all levels of want to in pursuing goals and I can tell you the goals I met was the ones I had the most want to to reach. Do you feel that “want to” strongly enough to lead you to victory? We all need to ask God to help our want to, he is already there to help us win. Pastor Don
