Jesus Rules From Generation to Generation
Today’s society is easily offended if their lifestyle or their version of truth is contradicted. But Jesus rules from generation to generation.
Luke 1:50 And His mercy is on them that fear Him from generation to generation.
Hearing and doing are both a part of serving God. We are charged with the responsibility to act and apply what we have heard about Him. God is the head of the church and speaks His word to His teachers and preachers. The church is called to hear and worship and take His word to the world. The pulpits of churches today must preach the true word of God.
Psalm 12:7 Thou are my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
Current generations reject the true word of God. They judge it as too hard. Sin is always hard to look at. Anything that goes against the word of God is an abomination without compromise. Today’s society is easily offended if their lifestyle or their version of truth is contradicted. The unwavering word must be passed from generation to generation.
Ecclesiastes 1:4 One generation passeth away and another cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
There was a generation in the book of Joshua that did not know God. They all did what was right in their own eyes. But also living in those days were prophets and judges that when backed into a corner came out preaching. They spoke what had been said to them by God without fear of consequences. These generations will be found in any culture and at any time in history.
Daniel 4:3 How great are His signs! And how mighty are His wonders! His Kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation.
Much of the evil and suffering we see in the world today is a product of a wicked and unbelieving world-view. Our hearts ought to be especially humbled by the things that characterize this kind of thinking. Pride and arrogance will bring about destruction. All blessings come from God and all glory belongs to Him.
