Even though this will be the most unusual Easter in my lifetime due to shelter-in-place regulations for the COVID19 virus, I still love the celebration of the Resurrection! To let our minds venture back to the breaking of dawn, the stone being rolled back and the Son of Man coming forth victorious over death, hell, and the grave. What a powerful event for us to think about. Not just because it happened, but because God did all of this for ME! You and I were the reason for Jesus death and the beneficiary of His resurrection. Today, even though we will not be gathered together in church buildings due to COVID19 regulations, will be the most attended church services across the world and rightfully so. However, I am so thankful the celebration of Easter is more than once a year church attendance. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is the price God paid to have a daily relationship with us again. What Adam broke in the Garden of Eden, God repaired with the sacrificial death on the Cross and the Resurrection of Jesus. (Luke 23:46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. When he had said this, he breathed his last) He died in my place. (John 11:25 Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;) He rose in newness of life. I am thankful God gives salvation to all who ask. I pray that your Easter event is more than watching a Church service online. I pray it is a celebration of the new life we have in Christ Jesus.
