Fight the Good Fight
The freedom we experience in America is God given. On this Memorial Day, we should thank God for the young men and women that sacrificed for the fight of freedom.
Memorial Day reminds us we should be grateful for those who gave up freedoms so the rest of us could have freedoms not experienced by other places in the world. Arlington is said to be the heart of America. Winston Churchill said, ” Never in the history of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”
God’s grace has allowed us to be in relationship with people willing to sacrifice their lives for their fellow man. 1 Samuel 15:22 says, “Obedience is better than sacrifice.”
Psalm 9:17
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
God needs a church that will stand in the gap and declare the Word of the Lord. God is looking for a people that will defend morals and what is right. People are in a fight for their families. The family is the basic unit on which our democracy is built.
Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, even a s Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it
Christian values are sneered at and rejected, but Christian values are what is holding this world together. The world is trying to satisfy what only Jesus can satisfy. There is no testimony without a test. We have to learn to resist the devil. Congregating with other believers provides the experience and knowledge and support to be able to resist.
Be a soldier. Be a warrior. Endure until the end. There is a war for our souls and our families. We need to ingest the Word of God. Keep your spirit man fed to receive power against death that has been conquered by Christ.
2 Timothy 2:4
No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
Galatians 5:16
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Romans 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Acts 1:8
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
In Hebrews 11, God has a tomb of unknown soldiers. On that day He returns, all those men in Arlington, the waters of Normandy, and the jungles of Vietnam who knew Him will be raised to meet Him in the sky to live eternally with Him. Fight the good fight to guarantee your place with Him on that day.
