DON’T MAKE RESOLUTIONS!! SET GOALS!!
How many find themselves beginning the New Year in the same place that they began last year? We had intentions of 2020 ending differently, but with no plans or goals we finished in the same condition we began. We made New Year resolutions, only to see them fade in importance as the days passed by. If we ever see change in our lives, it will be because we make goals and work toward meeting those goals. In His earthly ministry, Jesus often stated what His next goal was. The Apostle Paul knew he needed to set and work towards goals. (1 Corinthians 9:26-27 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.) 1. Setting goals is our spiritual responsibility. If you don’t set goals, you’ve already decided that other people will run your life. Spiritual maturity requires us to set goals and move toward them so we stay focused on God. 2. Setting goals reveals our statement of faith. Your goal shouldn’t just show your faith, it should stretch your faith. The bigger your faith, the more you please God. 3. Setting goals focuses your energy. Focus is the key to an effective life. We can accomplish anything we set our minds to do with the help of the Lord. You don’t have time to do everything and you don’t have the energy either. Setting goals keeps us moving forward, making progress, and being a blessing to other people. Don’t let another year pass without establishing a plan for your life. You’re not getting any younger. Pastor Don [image: image.png]
