Daring to Walk With Christ

Daring to Walk With Christ | Choose to Trust Jesus Where Ever It Leads

Choose to trust Jesus and go where He needs you to go, and do what He needs you to do. He doesn’t promise an easy road but He will be with you through it all!

Jesus’ has authority over both nature and fear. After feeding the multitudes, Jesus sends His disciples ahead by boat while He retreats to the mountain to pray. As night falls, the disciples find themselves caught in a violent storm, their boat tossed by contrary winds. In the darkest hour—between 3 and 6 a.m.—Jesus comes to them, walking on the sea. Terrified, the disciples mistake Him for a ghost, but Jesus calms their fears with the reassuring words, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”

Peter, ever bold, calls out, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” Jesus answers simply, “Come.” Stepping out of the boat, Peter walks toward Jesus, defying the storm beneath his feet. But when he turns his eyes from Jesus to the raging wind, fear overwhelms him, and he begins to sink. Crying, “Lord, save me!” Peter is immediately rescued by Jesus’ outstretched hand. Together they return to the boat, and the moment Jesus steps in, the wind ceases. The disciples, awestruck, fall in worship, declaring, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

The power of faith, the danger of doubt, and the saving presence of Christ. When we keep our eyes on Him, even life’s fiercest storms cannot pull us under.

  • Jesus demonstrates His divine authority over nature.
  • Peter’s faith enables him to walk on water.
  • Doubt causes Peter to sink.
  • Jesus immediately responds to our cries for help.
  • Worship follows every revelation of Christ’s power.

Step out of your boat of comfort and trust Jesus completely. Keep your eyes fixed on Him—because even when the storms rise, His hand is already reaching to lift you higher.

Matthew 14:28-29 (NKJV)

28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

Matthew 14:22-33 (NKJV)

22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. 25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”  32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.  33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”
