The real secret to change is not your willpower. The secret to change is when you know the truth and are faced with its consequences. If you can see the truth about where you are and what lies ahead, you will be moved to do something about it. Nothing will change in your life until you know and face the truth about your weaknesses, your relationships, your successes and failures, and your past and present. The truth is the motivating factor. The real truth can only be found in God’s Word. This is the reason I encourage everyone to read the word of God regularly. (EPHESIANS 4:21 NLT Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him.) We are bombarded with lies everyday. From the daily news calling each other liars to the lies we tell ourselves daily, we constantly are lied to. Behind every self-defeating habit in your life is a lie that you believe. Addicts still believe the lie that they don’t need help overcoming their addiction. If you are in debt over your head, you’ve believed a lie that you needed this or could pay for it later. If your relationships are on the rocks, you have believed that the answer to your problems could be found outside of God. Satan wants you to listen to and believe the lies you hear. Here is one truth you can start your day with today. Nothing changes until you know the truth and the truth can only be found in God. Believe only what God tells you because God can not lie.
