These Things Must Be
You can never satisfy spiritual needs carnally, and we are living in very difficult times. Right now we are living in times of open doors where Jesus is pouring out his spirit and blessings on us. Before too long, this time will come to an end.
The rapture is the next event on God’s calendar. This should not be confused with the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Before Jesus comes back, the dead will rise first. We shall be called up with them to meet Jesus in the air. And we will ever be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16). This is the rapture of the church. The first time you see Jesus in the air. The second coming of Jesus, he will come back to Earth riding on a white horse (Revelation 19:11)
Soloman’s Temple
Soloman’s temple was a sight to behold. It was built with silver and gold and precious gemstones, but it was destroyed and plundered. It was rebuilt at least times, but the temple isn’t just about appearance and ritual. It’s about meeting God and experiencing his presence.
The Jews were very proud of their temple, and they still are. They are waiting on their messiah to come. When the messiah did come unto them, they received him not (John 1:11).
Mount of Olives
Jesus went to the temple with Peter, James, John and Andrew and asked them to look at the great buildings around them. Jesus told them the buildings were going to be destroyed and not one stone will left on another. The disciples asked Jesus when it would happen. Jesus gave them signs to look for (Mark 13:1-8). Jesus told them when they saw the signs not to be troubled for such things must happen.
Mark 13:1-8
- As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!”
- 2 “Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
- 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately,
- 4 “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?”
- 5 Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you.
- 6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many.
- 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
- 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.
We don’t need to get caught up in what’s happening with Russia and Ukraine right now and fear about what China and other countries might do. We need to remember that Jesus is in control and these things have to happen. 1Thessalonians 5:9 says, “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation though our Lord Jesus Christ”. Revelation 3:10 says, “Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth”.
Jesus will be with us during the hard times and times of uncertainty. Jesus said these things must be, and we need to remember that he will be with us when they come to pass. We have his word and we need to stand on it and believe Jesus is who he says He is.
